What is the NwSBDC?

The Northwest Regional Small Business Development Center (NWSBDC) is part of the Small Business Development Center (SBDC) network which is currently the largest management and technical assistance program serving the small business sector in the U.S. In Minnesota, there are nine SBDC regions. The NWSBDC proudly serves the twelve counties that comprise Minnesota's  northwest region. We are a non-profit organization that is funded by Minnesota's Department of Employment and Economic Development (DEED), Small Business Administration (SBA) and local partners. The program provides free, confidential, one-on-one consulting services to existing and start-up business on a variety of business topics. SBDC offices offer these services through a network of consultants and through low-cost trainings on popular business topics.

The NWSBDC can show you how to start your own business or purchase an existing one, give you guidance with writing a business or marketing plan, help you access capital for your business, teach you how to better market your products and services, help you to better understand your financial statements, and much more. We provide the professional expertise and guidance that every small business owner needs in order to succeed in today's competitive and ever-changing business world.

The NwSBDC is getting a new host! Concordia College, out of Moorhead, MN, has decided to host our program for the future years. Though we will now be a subsidiary of Concordia College, our office will continue to be based in Bemidji, MN and our service to clients will remain virtually unchanged.

We are greatly looking forward to working with Concordia College, beginning January 1st, 2012!
